The popular high fiber diet programs claim that you won’t have to think about calories if you just pack your diet full with enough fiber. This high fiber weight loss plan assumes you will feel satiated and stop eating once your belly is distended enough from all that fiber. High fiber diet proponents are relying on fiber to counteract the impact of high sugar foods, which makes sense in theory, but doesn’t always work efficiently enough in reality.
It’s true that fiber is excellent for you, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. It cleans out your colon, which is good for your overall digestive system. It helps you feel full. Fiber also helps regulate your blood sugar level, preventing the release of too much insulin, which can cause your body to store more calories as fat. Fiber, when eaten with high sugar foods, will reduce your blood sugar level, meaning your body will make less insulin, and your steady blood sugar level will result in fewer cravings. Get out of the situation. If a work situation is getting tough to handle, slip out to the restroom for a break. Are your kids pushing your buttons? Send them to their rooms and get a minute alone to think. Is your partner being overly emotional? Tell your significant other you need twenty minutes to think and leave the room. In a long-term stressful situation? Schedule a day off. Just by getting out of the stressful situation, you will feel better as your stress level sinks. Use that time away wisely. Breathe deeply. Author: William Siong | Category: Online & Offline BizArtichokes are a mystery to many American dinner tables. They really should not be as they are very nutritious and can be a lot of fun to eat. These interesting veggies are high in fiber, vitamin C, folic acid, and biotin. Vitamin A and potassium are also found in artichokes but not as high levels. There isn’t much to cooking artichokes. Here is a basic example of how to do it.
Believe it or not the artichoke is from the thistle family, and because of this artichokes do have thorns. You can easily remove the thorns by cutting off the tips of the leaves with kitchen scissors. You then can cut off the top fourth to third of the small leaves. There is not much in these leaves to eat so you may as well remove them. Start some water boiling and salt the water and add a generous slice of lemon to it. Once the water is boiling add the artichokes. You will leave these in the water until the leaves are easily pulled off this could be as long as 50 minutes. Once you can easily remove a leaf you can carefully remove the artichoke and allow to drain. Read more…Lose Weight By Changing What You Drink
Author: William Siong | Category: Online & Offline BizYou’ve tried everything, and yet you still can’t lose weight? Most people can cut about 100-250 calories a day just by changing what they drink. By making these little changes, you can lose that extra weight.
Give water a chance. A simple Brita Filter can make tap water taste much better. Try various kinds of bottled water and unique waters such as alkalized water, which has a light, sweet taste a lot of people find appealing. Many people like water once they add a squeeze of lime or lemon juice or add slices of cucumber.
Wean yourself off sweetener in your tea and coffee. Remember, sugar, honey, and agave nectar all deliver empty calories. Gradually reduce the amount of sweetener you use. Because artificial sweeteners have recently been linked to weight loss problems (per medical studies), you will want to avoid these altogether. Focus on the end goal: enjoying your hot beverages without sweetener at all.
