Instead of searching for people who wants to Learn About Computer, I was very preoccupied with a phenomenon in the Internet world i.e. Twittering !
When you join the Twitter Communities, you will find that you are in a portal where all kind of messages are thrown at you in order to get your attention. Some of these messages are good, some are bad and some are totally senseless. But, who cares ? I do not have to read each and every tweets available, I merely browse through quickly for a topic that might interest me.
Basically this is a monkey see monkey do situation where many people believes that one can make money out of it (if done correctly). As a person who is seeking for ways to make money online, I naturally followed the crowds to see if I could gain something out of it. It started off at an agonizing step as almost no one wants to “follow” me but as I persistently post messages, I can see the crowd trickling in. Just yesterday alone, I have more than 50 people following and till this afternoon, I have an addition of more than a 100 “followers” to my list.
If you think this FAD is a gimmick of some kind, read the news extracted this morning from a Tweeter’s Post :
Twitter Added 5 Million Users In March By Joseph Tartakoff – Wed 15 Apr 2009 01:51 PM PST *See latest stats regarding Twitter (April2017)
It’s not news that Twitter is popular. But new numbers from comScore (NSDQ: SCOR) quantify just how astonishing the service’s growth has been, and reinforce why both Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) and Google (NSDQ: GOOG) are reportedly vying for a partnership with the microblogging site. The number of visitors to the site in March more than doubled to 9.3 million, up from 4.3 million in February. comScore’s Andrew Lipsman suggests that mainstream media attention may be driving much of the growth. He notes, for instance, that Twitter users are more likely than the average American to visit major Internet news sites. That, of course, may be because Twitter is sending lots of traffic to those sites. But it also could be that Twitter users are getting exposed to the service via the news. Lipsman writes, “If you watched the news this past week, you might’ve heard that Newt Gingrich levied criticism of President Obama’s response to the Somali pirate standoff over Twitter. I mean, we’re talking about the highest levels of government here, and a microblogging site is being used as a top politician’s primary media outlet?”
Even Oprah Winfrey is now interviewing about this phenomenon. With her publicity stance, I am confident that the viral reaction to Twittering will grow leaps and bounds overnight.
However, I feel sad for those who just learn to use a computer and have not even reach the Internet arena yet. There may be people searching for some kind of solution or advises in life, yet they are not knowledgeable enough to tapped on these social media resources that might change their lives.
As a visitors to this blog, help these people whom you know in your communities by directing them to a website that teaches them to Learn More About Computer so that they can quickly get through the learning phase and proceed to the Internet Zone where they might even uncover their hidden potential to make money or serve the communities.
